Join the VolunTeens!
We are calling all teens in grades 8-12 who want to give back.
Do you need community service hours and experience for college/job applications?
- Do you want to volunteer your time to assist the library with shelving or special projects?
- Do you enjoy working independently?
Join the Tewksbury Public Library VolunTeens! There are different ways to volunteer.
Assist with special events or projects:
When the library throws larger events or needs assistance with special projects, we often email volunteers to help us get the work done. Tasks can include things like helping us set up tables, face painting, handing out prizes, assisting with a craft, cleaning up after a program and other tasks as needed.
Teens who would like to help out with these events should fill out a Teen Volunteer Application and drop it off at the library to a staff member at the Circulation Desk or in the Teen Space.
Helping with shelving:
Once a teen has completed the training and passed the shelving test then they must fill out a Teen Volunteer Application and the Volunteer Agreement. The completed application and volunteer agreements need to be dropped off at the library to a staff member at the Circulation Desk or Teen Desk.
All volunteers must return their Teen Volunteer Applications with a parent or guardian's signature to Emily BEFORE the first day of volunteering.
For questions, please call 978-640-4490 extension 279. Teens need to contact staff about volunteer opportunities so we can best match teens with the tasks we have available. Parents and guardians should read this letter about our Teen Volunteer program before getting involved in the process.
