The Teen Summer Challenge is a way to help you discover new books, activities, content, and events over the summer! The goal is to have fun and keep your summer interesting. The theme of this year's challenge is Imagine Your Story!
How does this program work?
Anyone entering grades 6 through grades 12 in September 2020 who will be using the Tewksbury Public Library as their primary library can participate in the Teen Summer Challenge. Once you register for the teen summer challenge, you can start earning points! You earn 1 point for each minute you read. You earn 100 points for each virtual teen event you attend and you earn 50 points for each challenge that you complete. You can view a list of our virtual events here.

You can sign up by following this link to READSquared starting on June 22.
Are there any prizes?
Absolutely! There are two ways to earn prizes. The first way is to register for the summer challenge. Any teen registered for the summer challenge will be entered to win one of our weekly $20 gift cards to a local business. The second way to earn prizes is to use your points to earn raffle tickets. Each 100 points earns you a raffle ticket. You can enter tickets into any of our raffle prizes. Our raffle prizes this summer are:
- Nintendo Switch Lite, Animal Crossing game for Nintendo Switch, MicroSD card.
- $25 Dunkin Donuts gift card and a social issues book bundle.
- $25 Amazon gift card and a Star Wars book bundle.
We will also be raffling off four book bundles with $5 Dunkin Donuts gift cards.
What counts as reading?
Read a book, a graphic novel, manga or comic books. Listen to audiobooks. Read magazines or news articles. Any reading counts!
