Borrowing Policy - Borrowing - Meeting Rooms - Internet - Collection Development - Library CardsThe Tewksbury Public Library is open to all. To obtain a library card, you must be a resident of Tewksbury. Positive identification showing name and current address is required. Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when applying for a library card. The Tewksbury Library is a member of the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium (MVLC), which is made up of thirty-six libraries in Massachusetts. You may use your Tewksbury library card at any of these libraries. Residents of other Massachusetts communities may be granted borrowing privileges upon presentation of a current, valid library card from their hometown library. Out-of-state residents may apply for a card after paying an annual fee of $75.00. You must present a library card in order to check out materials. Loan PeriodsYou may borrow materials for the following time periods:
RenewalsMaterials can be renewed in person, by phone, or using HIP. Overdue FinesOverdue fines are 10 cents per day per item for print materials, with a maximum of $2.00 per item. Videos and DVD's are fined at $1.00 per day, with a maximum of $5.00 per item. Patrons with fines of $2.00 or more may not borrow additional materials until the fines are paid. Special CircumstancesSpecial restrictions may be placed on materials in high demand due to classroom assignments. Special arrangements for Tewksbury teachers are available upon request.
