Welcome to the Children's Department. We offer materials, programming and services for children from birth up through sixth grade.

Programs

Some of our regular programs include story times for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, crafts, STEAM-centered activities for school aged children, a reading program with therapy dogs, special performers, and a popular summer reading club.

Get the flavor of some of our story times and programs from our YouTube video channel. We have many fingerplays, songs and program snippets to check out!

Most of our programs are run on a drop in basis, but some do require registration due to space limitations. Be sure to look at our Events Calendar to find out what's happening.

Materials and Resources

Materials available include books, magazines, DVDs, video games, Playaways, books on CD, music CDs, Braille books, ebooks, language kits, phonics kits, preschool curriculum kits and subject kits.

The Children's department also offers wonderful databases which include reference material from encyclopedias, interactive e-books, and the ability to learn a language. Your library card grants you access to these resources.

Everything you need from an encyclopedia at your fingertips! Photos, videos, information AND it will read aloud to you OR you can translate it into different languages if you need to!

Enjoy interactive e-books for kids. No downloading required! Plus play the fun games!

Loveable Muzzy and his fun friends will guide your child on the journey to learning a new language naturally and without effort.
